The Caldecott Medal winning book retells the Acoma Pueblo tale of a mysterious boy seeking his father who lives in the Sun. The boy, after many trials, returns to Earth to bring the Sun’s spirit into the world of men.
The book was taken from the animated short film of the same name. Much of the book illustration is collaged from the acetate cels and backdrops used in the film.
