Daedalus fashions wings for the escape of himself and his son Icarus from the Labyrinth of King Monos of Crete, but Icarus fails to heed his father’s warnings about their use.
The book is based on an animated film of the same name. The film was also awarded the Zellerbach Award for Film as Art at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
This short film was done in 1966 shortly after McDermott graduated from the Pratt Institute of Design in 1964.
